Custom Wood-Backed Wall Pads: Boosting Safety and School Spirit in Athletic Spaces
At AK Athletics, we understand the importance of safety and branding in athletic environments. Recently, we had the privilege of working on an exciting project that involved the installation of 25 high-quality wall pads in a middle school gym located in Southwest Ohio.
Here’s a closer look at the details of this project and the benefits it brings to student athletes and the school community.
Project Overview
Wall Pad Dimensions: Our installation included 25 wall pads, each measuring 24 in. (2 ft.) by 72 in. (6 ft.), providing substantial coverage for gym walls and ensuring a cushioned barrier for athletes during high-impact activities.
Custom Branding: To foster school spirit, 10 of these pads (in Texan Blue) featured custom logos, split into two sets of 5 pads each. This cohesive branding element not only enhances the gym’s aesthetic appeal but also promotes pride among students and faculty.
Additional Wall Pads: We also supplied 2 larger pads measuring 30 in (2.5 ft.) by 72 in (6 ft.), crafted in a vibrant Texan Blue. These pads included custom graphics and printing tailored to showcase team mascots or motivational messages.
Installation Insights
Location and Timeframe: The installation took place over a span of 12.5 hours, which encompassed setup, cleanup, and the attachment of additional pads to a custom-designed door for the school. Our team ensured a seamless experience from delivery to installation, collaborating closely with Borgman Athletics for efficient logistics.
Teamwork and Equipment: Successful installations require not just quality materials, but also a dedicated team. This project was executed by at least two trained professionals, utilizing the right tools—levels for alignment, electric screwdrivers for quick fastening, and Liquid Nails adhesive for added security. Proper equipment ensured the wall pads were securely installed and ready for action.
