AK Athletics Supports the Central Ohio Rescue/Recovery K9 Unit Annual Spring Fling Fundraiser
AK Athletics was proud to support the Central Ohio Rescue/Recovery K9 Unit Annual Spring Fling Fundraiser, a community-focused event dedicated to helping one of Ohio’s most important volunteer emergency response organizations continue its life-saving mission.
Held in Central Ohio with approximately 50 attendees, the fundraiser brought together supporters, handlers, trainers, and community members for an evening centered around awareness, appreciation, and support for the incredible work performed by rescue and recovery K9 teams across the state.
As part of the event, AK Athletics donated multiple custom printed vinyl banners along with a folding mat for the fundraiser’s silent auction. Our design team also assisted with final print preparation and cleanup work to ensure the event graphics printed cleanly and professionally for display throughout the venue.
The Central Ohio Rescue/Recovery K9 Unit is a nonprofit organization specializing in Human Remains Detection, Air Scent, and Trailing. Their highly trained K9 teams work alongside fire departments, law enforcement agencies, EMS organizations, and local communities to assist during emergencies across Ohio and beyond.
Their teams help locate:
• Missing persons in wilderness and urban environments
• Missing children
• Lost or injured hikers and hunters
• Drowning victims
• Alzheimer’s or dementia patients who have wandered away
• Deceased victims on land and in water
The organization’s handlers and certified K9 teams remain on call 24/7, often responding in difficult weather and high-stress situations where every second matters.
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to see firsthand the incredible discipline, training, and partnership between the dogs and their handlers. Watching these K9 teams demonstrate their abilities served as a powerful reminder of the dedication and commitment required to perform rescue and recovery work that directly impacts families and communities every single day.
